7 Dots Studio Layout for Scrapping Outback!

Hello!

I told you I have a lot to share!!! Another layout for you today! I have been very busy...
I would like to share with you a layout I created with 7 Dots Studio Papers "Domestic Goddess" Collection available at Scrapping Outback.
Those papers are very thick and are perfect for mixed media style layouts, they can take a lot of spraying, painting etc. A real treat to play with!!!

"Cowboy"

I am highly influenced by Finnabair here as you can see. I was very lucky to attend one of her classes last month and came home with lots of leftover goodies, and lots of fun techniques so I thought to create a layout using the techniques I had learnt with the 7 Dots Studio Papers available at Scrapping Outback.
Also available at Scrapping Outback are the Glimmermist Sprays I used in this layout!

Title Tip: my title was created with alphabet chipboard, I first sprayed it with brown and blue glimmermist, by spraying them together I allowed them to mix beautifully! When dry I covered each letter with Impasto Gel, it enhances the colour beneath, when dry I added some Distress Stickles in Walnut Stain.

Tip: concentrate the dark colouring in some areas to create shady and lighter areas.

Canvas for Meg's Garden

I thought to create something a little bit different this month, I wanted to incorporate Meg’s gorgeous lace in there as well and a little bit of mixed media elements.

I turned my mini canvas around, covered the wood with masking tape and covered in Gesso, when dry I added some modeling paste through a stencil in the corners. The inside frame was created with lace that I glued and painted with Gesso, I love the texture it created.

“You”

Here you can see the layers of paper, border, chipboard and stitching:

My New Look!!!!

Good morning!

Welcome to my blog! It has had a major makeover! A big thank you to Emma Stafrace from "Little By Little" Blog Design for a wonderful finished product! It is a lot more welcoming, what do you think???

I want to share one of my projects with you today to celebrate my new look blog, it's a layout I created for Imaginarium Designs blog gone live this morning!!! My gorgeous little daughter of course is the star! After my class with Finnabair last month I came back with lots of inspiration, techniques that I wanted to use with my own touches. I pushed myself to used more mediums, in this layout I used Modeling Paste, Gesso and texture stamping around the layout, I have been scared of using them in the past, but I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone! And I love the result!

"Smile"

All the flowers have been dry brushed with Gesso, for a soft muted look! The edges were border punched randomly, distressed and inked with Black Soot Distress Ink with inking tool, and stamped with gorgeous Bo Bunny Texture stamp! I also slid some gorgeous lace here and there! I also hand-stitched a border around layout!

In this creation my chipboards were used differently to what they were initially designed to be! I chose 2 different borders and they are no longer borders! You should never feel bad cutting up your borders!
The first border Edward Relief border was painted with Gesso and cut into little rectangles and attached at the top of my banner.

This border was also cut at its extremety to become a photo corner!

The second border is the circle border of which I cut one circle. I painted it white with Gesso, now that's not all it is, I transformed into a shaker box by adding some upcycled packaging! I was lucky enough to attend Finnabair's class last month and salvaged all the beautiful packaging we used during her classes! So I found a perfect size flower plastic cover to fit in the middle of the circle, pushed it in, added some beads and glued some paper for backing and voila! A very easy accent for my grungy page!

Lastly I added a title over my banner using little alphas covered with white gel pen! It is a very quick and easy non messy way to colour little bits of chipboard!
One embellishment 8 was cut in half lengthways, painted with Gesso and attached over bandage and lace on top of my banner.
Love the torn/worn bandage with all the curly threads! I added some extra texture with a Prima mask and some Modeling Paste!

 Imaginarium Chipboard used:

Pion Design Love Affair....

Good morning!

It has been a while, I have been creating but not much to share at the moment...I did manage to scrape up a little something yesterday. I used Alma's Sewing Room Collection by Pion Design mixed with an older collection of theirs! You will see a lot of those gorgeous papers, I have 2 more projects to share very soon!

This week-end I have taken decisions...and found where I was going at last scrapwise! The old Sandrine is back! The shabby old Sandrine! So the last projects I have created are a lot like what I want my "style" to be! Soft with flowers, lots of chipboard and stamped images. And this layout is the first of many more shabby chic layouts!
I designed it for the Spring Sketch challenge over at Pion Design Blog! Have a looksie here.

Used Imaginarium Design Fence at the bottom!

A little closie of some shabby elements in the top corner (as per sketch)

Here is a gorgeous chipboard butterfly by Imaginarium on which I added some punched circles and brad!
