Imaginarium Share 1

Good morning!

Finally finding some time to blog, have been busy, kids have been sick, so it is a bit hard to visit blogs lately, sorry...Today I want to share one of the layouts I created for Imaginarium Designs, the colours were inspired by this image found on Pinterest:

I just adore those 2 colours togeher, Yellow and Mint!

Here is my layout :)

"Treasured Memories" title was first painted with a thin layer of Gesso, and then lightly sprayed with yellow and blue Glimmermist:

The gorgeous Feather was also lightly painted with Gesso, then sprayed a bit more heavily with yellow Glimmermist, when dry I added some "Rock Candy" Distress Stickles to the middle area. I let it dry and then added the blue glimmermist with a paint brush, the rock candy gives gorgeous texture to the feather:

The Fence was lightly painted with Gesso, I painted the Hearts with blue Glimmermist and lightly sprayed the bottom with yellow glimmermist:

He's Growing Up Too Fast!

Today I have a page to share! It is for the gorgeous sketch challenge at Paper Stories,
it is MY interpretation!
I love love love Page Drafts! They designed the sketch for Paper Stories this month!!!
For this challenge I dug into my supply of Imagiarium Designs Chipboard of course, and used some fabulous designs, below is the very famous "Clock and Compass", I did not use a whole one, I saved a section of it for another project, it is one of my fav...
Treatment: I sprayed dark brown glimmermist, one coat was enough, when dry I applied a thick coat of "Walnut Stain" Distress stickles, I completely love how it turned out, I have been playing with different techniques, but can't share just yet.

Below is another one of my fav, Louise Nelson's design :) for this one I coloured it with a yellow alcohol marker and then covered with dimensional magic! There you have it your very own epoxy chipboard accent!

For this very cool title I first applied one coat of Picket Fence Distress Stain, then coloured with my yellow alcohol marker (it took a few coats), but I still did not like the colour, so I went over one more time with yellow Distress pen, what happened was that the bottom Distress stain layer started to react with the top yellow pen layer, it became milky but the colour was exactly what I wanted to create, grungy yellow! I added some Walnut Stain ink on edges to finish it off.

One last closie of the gorgeous layers and dimension. The background is white cardstock at the base but I grunged it up with "Old Paper", "Walnut Stain" and "Scattered Straw" Distress Inks! I used inking tool, sponge dabber and stencil.

OUAS FEB13 CHALLENGE

Hello!

This month Meg's Garden is sponsoring the Challenge site "Once Upon A Sketch" to celebrate the release of its brand new paper collection designed by the very talented Denise Ann Bodey called "Ode to a Summer's Day".

Here is the challenge:

The month of February is the month we celebrate St Valentine's Day here in Australia and in many parts of the world. Love takes on many forms..relationship love, parental love etc etc. So let's think about what the above quote can mean and how you can interpret it on a layout. You are free to scrap about any kind of love you wish however you like based on the following sketch.
Ideas for journalling: love for your partner, family , parents ,siblings , children, work, students, craft, music, extra curricular activities. Whatever it is that you connect LOVE with.
Your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch below.
Please make sure that we see some sort of journalling on your layouts and please tell us where your journalling is . You are allowed to journal in any language but please tell us where on your page we will find your journalling. Remember journalling has to be a bit more than a title, or a generic comment. Hidden journalling is perfectly fine.

My take on the challenge:

"Love You"

For this fabulous challenge I chose to scrapbook about the love for my daughter. I have hidden my journalling (5 reasons why I love her) in Meg's Garden's Test Tube, I cut 5 test strips and wrote my journalling on them using Distress Ink Pen in Scattered Straw.

Here is my journalling:

The background circle was handstitched with yellow thread, I also handstitched a white border around the layout.
Imaginarium Designs Chipboard title "Love You" and Heart piece covered in Picket Fence Distress Stain with a thin layer of Croco Crackle paint in white:

More Imaginarium Designs Chipboard here a flourish that I cut in half to create a fancy border for my banner - added some stitched crosses to it -and both got the same treatment as the title. The background was created with 'Twinkle Yellow" Glimmermist and Pink Paislee mask, also added La Blanche script stamp using Stampin Up "Barely Banana":

Closie of the beautiful design in paper - purple viny flowers - and Manor House Creations Blooms!
