Scrapping Outback August 15 challenge

Hello, hello!

Just wanted to share my sample for Scrapping Outback with you.
The challenge is follow this photo prompt:

My sample looks like this:

I used the following SO products:
 -WOW veneer word
- Coco Vanilla - Sugar and Spice - paper
- 2 Crafty Chipboard - Bubble Clumps -
- Prima Marketing Resin Frame
- 7 Dots Studio papers - Unknown Destination -

I have another very fun tutorial for you to get inspired this month!

"From chipboard to stamp"

This is what you will need:

- Craft foam (mine is very cheap and about 2mm thick)

- Acrylic Paints

- Chipboard - fun shapes -

- Heavy object to press chipboard into foam

- Heat Gun

1.Choose a piece of chipboard you would like

to transform into a stamp, I am using WOW Honeycomb, it will make a gorgeous background stamp!

2.Take a piece of foam a little bigger than your chipboard piece

3. Heat foam up with heat gun - texture will change slightly and it will curl on the edge when ready -

4.Quickly grab your chipboard and press hard into the foam
I used a heavy object to help me press really hard.
The thicker the chipboard the better!

Cut stamp closer to edge and stamp away!
You can use ink or paint
Here is what my finished stamp looks like! I actually made a few! You could use words, letters or phrases too, don't forget to press them the wrong way so they stamp the word the right way!

I used that process to create my layout this month, here is a close up of my background:

That's it! So easy!

For those who follow me on Facebook you will know that I had a go at the Masters Comp again this year, unfortunately I was unsuccessful. I therefore will have a break from scrapbooking  so don't worry if you don't see me for a while. I am well and am working on my new garden and my new passion painting.

Thank you for stopping by!

Be happy!

I used the following SO products:
 - Coco Vanilla - Sugar and Spice -
- Websters Pages - Beautiful Chic -
- Prima Marketing - Cigar Box Secret Flower -
- WOW Mini Scroll Set #3
- 2 Crafty - Bubble Clumps -
- Twiddleybitz - Basic Arrows -

I have a very fun tutorial for you to get inspired to think outside the box!  Here it is:

This is what you will need:

- Gelli Plate

- Acrylic Paints

- Brayer

- Deli Paper + Cardstock

- Chipboard - fun shapes -

- Acrylic Block

Place Gelli Plate on acrylic block

(I am using a small 3''X5'' plate as a stamp on my background repeating the prints to create fun effect on a 12x12 cardstock piece)

1.Cover gelli plate with both colours using brayer, place chipboard on wet paint:

2.Place deli paper over and press to remove some paint:

3.Reveal first print:

4.Remove the chipboard pieces, they have been painted in the process:

This is what your plate looks like now, it is ready for stamping on another sheet:

5.Using plate as a stamp press onto clean sheet of deli paper, I got 3 groovy prints out of this one:

I used that process to create my layout this month, here is a close up of my background:

I toned my background down with some Gesso, just enough so you can still see all the chipboard outlines underneath!

I used lots of different chipboard pieces too, including the scrolls that I actually used around my photo!

Thank you so much for visiting and I hope I got you inspired to create with your chipboard!

Happy Scrapping!

A New Venture!

Hello!

I have a new venture!
I have decided to offer Roma locals the opportunity to learn scrapbooking with me, concentrating on mixed media techniques!
I have been dreaming about it for a long time, and I just thought to give it a try now that I have a really great area in my house dedicated to painting and scrapbooking! My first class starts this week-end and I have a couple of ladies booked in so I am very excited!!!
I will concentrate on one on one or small group of people, I think it is important to take the time to give advice and listen to each person.
I will see where this takes me...

So here are all the info, for anyone interested I am willing to travel too, just ask me and we can have a talk!

This is the upcoming class

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Scrapping!

Scrapping Outback May 15 Challenge!

Hello and welcome to our May "White with a Twist" Challenge....

So the challenge is:

Create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in this photo and you MUST use at least one piece of chipboard. (as Scrapping Outback is known for all its chipboard).

You must use WHITE combined with the colours above. You can use printed paper as long as these colours are the main focus of the paper. There can be other colours on the printed paper, but not too much to take away from the colours in the inspiration picture.

You can use anything to create these colours like mists, inks or paints.

You can use a small amount of black/brown just for a little stamping, inking, journaling or just as a small accessory, however it is NOT to be the main focus of your layout.

You can use as little or a lot of each colour, but every colour or shade of that colour in the picture MUST be used. You can use varied shades of the colours - it depends on the inspiration that you get from the picture.

Rules:
Create a layout following the above criteria

Here is my sample

"Cherish You"

The SO products used are:
- WOW title Crazy About You
-  Kaisercraft Chevron Stencil
- Kaisercraft Basecoat Paper

Create some fun background by covering some patterned paper with Gesso first, it seals your background and therefore makes it really easy to work with other mediums like paint, sprays or watercolour.

A Grungy Layout!

Hello!

I am back this month to show you a layout using My Mind's Eye Chalboard papers.

I used the colours in the collection to create my own background, mint and black, even though you might think they are boys colours I think they work well with my little girl's funny face!

"Clown"

I used the gorgeous Dusty Attic Buttons with Linday's Stamp Gang embossing powders!
I just love that gorgeous grungy effect I created!
